In the center of the postcard, the background is white. Standing in the center of the postcard is an African-American Santa Claus. His back is turned towards the left side of the postcard. He wears a long red robe with white fur trim, and a matching red and fur trimmed hat with red tassels hanging from the end. His long white hair, mustache and beard are visible as he smiles an open-lipped smile at the viewer. His head is tipped to his right as he looks out at the viewer. His right hand is placed on his right hip, while his left hand is held out in front of him at shoulder level. On each of his hands he wears green gloves with red stitching. He also wears a pale blue belt about his waist. In his left hand he holds an unrolled, long piece of parchment.     <dcterms:description><![CDATA[<p>“Having observed the westward growth of Waterloo, Archbishop Henry P. Rohlman announced in 1947 the founding of a new parish in Waterloo to be called Blessed Sacrament. He appointed Father Louis A. Putz as pastor and temporary chaplain of Saint Francis Hospital. The land purchase was completed in December. The first Mass in the new parish was celebrated in the Little Theatre of Edison School on January 4, 1948. The next month the parish purchased a house for a rectory and Father Putz was relieved of the chaplaincy at the hospital.”</p>
