Known as the "High" or "Wagon" bridge, this structure opened in 1887 as the first passenger bridge between Dunleith (East Dubuque) and the Key City. It was torn down when the Julien Dubuque bridge was opened in 1943. Two buggies, each pulled by one horse, are proceeding west across the bridge. Steam or smoke pouring from a smoke stack of the Dubuque Star Brewing Company is visible in the background.
