Hoffmann Sr. John is wearing a collared jacket with a white shirt underneath the collared jacket. The jacket appears to have a thickness to it. John is also wearing a patterned tie or an Victorian style puff tie with a jewel tie pin/clip in the middle. His short hair is parted on the left side of his head. He is looking to the left of the photograph. He has a thick mustache that extends outwards of his mouth.
