A wool carpet in a geometric pattern covers the floor; a small chandelier hangs over the desk. Behind her are two doors. On the glass of one door is a sign for “Jas A. Hayes Surety Bonds.” On the other door a sign reads “Maguire, Private.” Between the two doors is a bookcase filled with legal books. A sign for the “Title Guaranty and Surety Company, Official, Fidelity, Judicial, Contract, We issue Surety Bonds,” hangs on the bookcase.     <dcterms:description><![CDATA[A crowd of men, women and children appear to be listening to a speaker. The photographer, Methodist minister Reverend H. J. Loemker, indicates in his notes that the featured speaker, on June 27, 1916, is “Lawrence MacGahan, a brave young man, salon keeper’s son who walked 9,792 miles for the Prohibition National Committee, on his way to Minneapolis, Minnesota.” This gentleman’s name may also be spelled “Mc Gahan.” A newspaper account indicates that some 12,000 people attended this event. The number 1365 is written on a label that has been stuck to the lower left corner of the slide.]]></dcterms:description>

    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[The image shows a building which was three stories tall. Numerous small, pointed gables are visible on the mansard roof. A circular turret with a cone-shaped roof rises above the front entrance. A label on the image reads &quot;Res. Cor. 13th and Main, Dubuque&quot;, however the photo was taken at 12th and Main St.  It is unclear if the home was built by Alexander or James Levi. In 1933 the home was purchased by St. Joseph&#039;s Academy and renamed St. Margaret&#039;s Hall. When the school closed, the building remained empty for many years before being condemned and torn down in 1965. The number 1265 is written on a label that has been stuck to the lower left corner of the slide.]]></dcterms:description>

There are two light colored, ionic columns holding up the front of the roof over the porch/. The door is a darker color and has nine small rectangular windows and a door knocker underneath them, and two small lights either side of the door. The house is a light colored, three-story house. with a chimney on the left side of the house. To the left of this house is another house, but this one is a darker color, and only the side of the house is visible, four full windows, and two parts of windows. To the right and back of the main house is another house which is on the street behind these houses. The house behind is a lighter colored house with a visible door, chimney, and one window. There is also a tree behind both homes. The address of the primary house is 1045 Melrose Terrace.]]></dcterms:description>
